What is the External Portal?

The External Portal component of the OmniStar product offers a public facing web Portal, which allows communication with clients and the general public. This might be used for the dissemination of information, the request for feedback, or more specifically to initiate Grant Rounds or Application processes.

Who uses the External Portal?

External Participant: An external participant is a user who participates in the process via the public facing External Portal.

Organisation Representative: An Organisation Representative holds a position with an Organisation that is associated with Applications or Projects. The position grants the representative access via the External Portal to information belonging to the parent Organisation.


What can be done in the External Portal?

Below you will find a walk through of the major features of the External Portal module.

Successfully signed in users will be able to see the top menu (depending on the permissions assigned to the signed in users).

What can external participants do?

External users participate in the process in different ways. They may have access to any the following features based on their participation.

Create applications and view applications that belong to you or have been shared with you. Refer to View the Application List.

View approval decisions assigned to you. Refer to the External Approvals.
View dashboards shared with you. Refer to Dashboard of the External Portal.

View forms that belong to you or have been shared with you.
View information about the portal provided by the host organisation.

View meetings that you are participating in. Refer to Meetings - External Portal.

View and update your profile. Refer to Your External Portal Profile.

View projects that belong to you or have been shared with you. Refer to External Project Portal.

View and action your milestones across all projects. Refer to External Portal Milestones.

View and action reviews of applications or milestone submissions. Refer to External Portal Reviews,

View panels that you are participating in.

Answer a survey about the Portal.

View help for the current page.

What can organisation representatives do?

Users representing a participating organisation are able to:

View applications that belong to their organisation as the principal organisation on the application. Organisation representatives cannot change applications. Refer to View the Application List.

View projects that belong to their organisation as the principal organisation on the project. Action milestones that are the responsibility of their parent organisation. Refer to External Project Portal.

View milestones that belong to their organisation. Action milestones that are the responsibility of their parent organisation. Refer to External Portal Milestones.
